Everything You Need To Know About Beta-Alanine
Video Transcript:
Here's everything you need to know about beta-alanine, simply explained in 60 seconds or less.
So beta-alanine is a natural compound found in certain meats like beef and chicken, but kind of like creatine, you can't consume enough through a typical diet for it to have any benefits.
That's why it comes in supplemental form, and it works by saturating muscle carnosine stores, which helps buffer muscle acidity as exercise intensity increases.
As far as benefits, it can increase strength, power, endurance, delay neuromuscular fatigue and has some pretty cool health and cognitive benefits as well.
Now, who is it for? Well, it's for anybody that participates in a sport or activity that involves short, intense bursts of effort lasting anywhere from one to four minutes.
As far as a dose, 3,200 to 6,400 milligrams daily. And that part is important. Kind of like creatine, you have to take it every day to have the benefits. And you'll start to notice those after about two to four weeks.
Now, if your face starts feeling like it's going to melt off after you take beta-alanine or your skin tingles, that's just a harmless side effect called paresthesia that goes away with continued use.
Now does beta alanine stack well with any other supplements? Beta alanine stacks really well with creatine. Lots of cool research out there showing the performance enhancing benefits of both. That is why I put them both in LOADED.
