How To Recover Faster From Exercise

If you're an endurance or hybrid athlete struggling to recover or feeling flat before workouts,  you’re probably thinking, "I need more protein, more sleep, more easy days." And sure, that helps—but you might be ignoring the real game-changer here: carbs.

Most people think protein is key for recovery, and while it is and helps repair damaged muscles, it doesn’t under most circumstances provide energy (aka glycogen or glucose) to working muscles. That’s where carbs come in. Carbs fuel aerobic metabolism and are the only fuel for anaerobic glycolysis—the intensity that makes you want to puke!

So, if you’re doing everything else right but still not recovering, try this:

One, eat 6-10 grams of carbs per kilogram of body weight daily……two, eat 1-1.5 grams of carbs per kilogram body weight during the first 30 minutes after exercise and every 2 hours for at least 4-6 hours after that. And 3…..if you still feel like you need a recovery boost after trying the things I just mentioned you can try our aptly named RECOVERY product that contains targeted recharging nutrients that kicks muscle repair and glycogen replenishment in to overdrive

So remember, optimal recovery is more than just protein and rest. Carbs are critical for refueling your muscles and preparing you for the next workout. Try focusing on your carb intake and see how it improves your performance and recovery!
